Richard W. Grossmann ,71, of Walton, NY died peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Monday March 25, 2024. Richard was born May 9, 1952, to Leonard W. Grossmann and Lucille Weisinger.

Richard proudly served in the US Army and was an active member of Truman C. Tobey Post 32 of the American Legion where he was Vice Commander and adjutant, also a member of the Walton Veterans Club. He was an accomplished writer, publishing two books; Casualties of the Vietnam, Korea & WW II from Delaware County and World War II Prisoners of War from Walton NY. He was a member of the Walton Historical Society. He was passionate about preserving the local history of Delaware County.

In his free time Richard enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren. He loved to golf and especially loved being outside in Nature. He loved birdwatching and looked forward to planting his flowers every spring.

Richard is survived by his loving family, Sons, Andrew (Miranda) Grossmann and Michael (Nina)Grossmann; Grandchildren; Logan, Isabella, and Aleena. Brothers: Leonard (Nancy) Grossmann, Charles (Kathy) Grossmann. Sisters, Virginia (Ray) Cole, Estelle Barnhart, and Ann Carroll, step grandchildren Madison, Makenna, Makara, Annaka, Carson and several nieces' nephews and cousins.

Richard was predeceased by his Parents Leonard and Lucille Grossmann, Sister; Gladys Palmatier and Brother Raymond G Grossmann.

Services will be held on May 10, 2024, with full military honors. A graveside will take place at 1PM at the Walton Cemetery.
