Hamden, NY - Richard J. Mauro, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Delhi, NY.

Born on May 12, 1936 in Rockaway Beach, NY to the late William and Sophie Witkowski Mauro. Richard was raised in Broad Channel, NY. He worked 40 years with the Sheet Metal Worker's Union Local #28. Richard and his late wife, Eileen Palmay Mauro relocated to the Hamden area in early 2000.

Richard was a proud lifetime member of the North Channel Yacht Club Broad Channel, NY; He was an avid Fisherman and Hunter.

Besides his parents and beloved wife, Eileen, Richard is predeceased by his brother, William Mauro and his sister, Catherine Conklin. He is survived by his sister, Grace Ford (late Richard); nieces and nephews, Matthew Conklin, Denise Pelusio (Joe), John Conklin, Richard Ford (Patricia), Doreen Ford, William Ford and Maryanne Ogden (Jason). Many great nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Virgilius Church Broad Channel at a later date and time to be announced.
