Richard C. Terry, 58 of Walton, passed away unexpectedly, Friday evening, November 10, 2007 in the Delaware Valley Hospital.
Richard was born in Walton on August 15, 1949, the son of the late Clayton and Gladys (Nichols) Terry. He was a graduate of Walton Central School, Class of 1967. He proudly served his country during Vietnam War in the U. S. Marine Corps. Richard was employed by Delaware Operations at the wastewater treatment plant, Andes. He was married to Mary Terry who died in 2005. Richard was a former member of the Walton Fire Dept., Hamden Fish and Game Club, member and current president of the Hamden Hill Ridge Riders, Walton American Legion, and the NY State Snowmobile trail inspectors Assn. Richard loved snowmobiling, carpentry, hunting, boating, and using his backhoe. Richard was a super loving guy who always gave of himself. But most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Richard is survived by 2 daughters, Stacey (Brian) Knowles, Seabrook, New Hampshire, Miranda Terry, Walton, grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kevin, Morgan, Linda and Monica, his fiance', Joanne M. Lowe, Walton; brother, David Terry and his fiance', Audrey; Aunt Annabelle Nichols, Virginia; long time and very special friend Bob (Sandy) Moody, Hamden Hill, and several cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, November 15, 2007 from 6 to 8 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held on Friday at 2 PM with the Rev. Bert More, officiating. Interment will follow in Hamden Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to Mary Terry Scholarship % National Bank of Delaware County, Hamden Branch.
