Robert W. Bailey, Sr., 67, of Walton, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Roscoe Nursing Home.

He was born on August 7, 1943 in Bradford, PA, the son of the late Albert and Ruth (Shugers) Bailey.

Robert was self-employed, operating a lawn care business in the Walton area until he was forced to retire due to illness in 2004.

He was married to Jo Ann E. Franklin Bailey on December 16, 1989 in Walton.

Robert enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and carpentry. He was also known as an all around handyman.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Bailey; a son, Robert Bailey Jr. of Virginia; step sons, Jason and Christopher Lykens; grandchildren, Robert III, Candise, Shyanne, Rebecca, Travis and Haley; brothers, Eugene Bailey of Carbondale, PA, Raymond Bailey and Rodney Bailey both of Florida; a sister Agnes Buchanan of Walton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by two sisters, Katherine Whiting and Helen Tompkins; and a brother, David Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, with the Rev. Edward Golding officiating. Friends are invited to call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Walton Cemetery, Walton.
