Robert A. Bentley, 70, of Walton, formerly of Manhattan passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY.

Robert was born July 10, 1942 in Manhattan, NY, the son of the late John A. and Sara (Weber) Bentley.

Robert was a Self Employed Contractor in New York City. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and camping at Terry's Campsite in Shinhopple.

Robert is survived by his loving family, his children, Robert (Debbie) Bentley of New Jersey, Barbara Bentley of Monticello, NY; Brian Bentley of New Rochelle, NY; Guy (Dawn) Bentley of New Jersey; Joseph Bentley of New York City; Kevin Bentley of Walton, NY; John Bentley of Manhattan, NY; Ryan (Jeanette)Bentley of Manhattan, NY; Christine (Ken) Bentley of Bronx, NY; 11 grandchildren, Samantha, Robert III, Julia, Stephen, Jennifer, Amanda, Guy Michael, Ryan, Michael, Evelyn, Eoin, his sister and brother in law, Maureen and Phillip Balanceu of Stafford Springs, CT; his brother, Michael McCool of Long Island; his special friends, Phillip and Felicia Erwin of Downsville, NY; He was predeceased by his brother, John Bentley, his sisters, Catherine Elmedorf, Rosie Strickland, Helen Kolb, Lillian Bentley and Delores Bentley.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday morning, October 18, 2012 at 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, NY.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11:30AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Maple Avenue, Downsville, NY with the Rev. Edward J Golding officiating.
