Obituary

Robert S. Cook 72 of Bainbridge,formerly of Franklin, passed away on Saturday afternoon, October 13, 2012, at home following a long illness.

Bob was born in Franklin on January 27, 1940 the son of the late James and Frances Brown Cook. On December 12, 2009 he married the former Sara Spencer in Balston Spa. She survives.

Bob was a former member of the Masonville Rod and Gun Club, and the Sidney Moose Club. Bob enjoyed garage sales and auctions where his number was usually # 62. He also collected brass of all shapes and sizes. Bob loved visiting with family and friends and was known as a joker in the best sense.

Bob is survived by his loving family, his wife Sara, his brother, Harry and Patty Cook, Harpursville, his sister, Fran Gascon, his friend Isabel and her son, Dan, his trusty and dear companion "Rusty" and several cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Donald, Charlie Cook, sisters Wanda Schultz, Virginia Groat, and Dorothy Cook. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Cora on June 17, 2004.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St, Walton where services will be held at 11 AM with the Rev. Ben Shaw and Rev. Mary Anne Palmatier, co-officiating. Burial will follow in Ouleout Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be made to Hospice of Chenango County, 21 Hayes Street Norwich, NY 13815.
