IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert W.
Cox
August 9, 1937 – January 4, 2026
It is with profound sorrow yet enduring gratitude that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert W. Cox on January 4, 2026, at the age of 88. Surrounded by his devoted family in his final moments, Robert departed this world as he lived it—embraced by love and enveloped in the warmth of those he held most dear.
Born on August 9, 1937, in the Bronx, New York, to parents Herbert and Virginia Cox, Robert grew into a man of unwavering principle, quiet strength, and boundless heart. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, embodying the virtues of courage, duty, and sacrifice that defined his generation.
After his Honorable Military Service, Robert channeled that same dedication into a lifelong career as a steelworker with Local Union 28. His relentless work ethic, steadfast determination, and skilled hands not only built New York City's most iconic structures that stood tall but also forged deep bonds with colleagues who admired his reliability and camaraderie. He was known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor that could lighten any room, tempered by a gentle stubbornness.
Above all, Robert was a very cherished and loving husband to Arlene Raduazzo-Cox, a loving brother to Joseph Cox, a loving cousin to Susan Andrews, a devoted father to daughter Ginny and son-in-law Jeff. Son Steven and daughter-in-law Donna Cox. Son Bill and daughter-in-law Krysti Cox. A loving grandfather to Steven, Lacey, Mathew, Michael, Irene, and Katie, and a great-grandfather to Arielle, Callum, Parker, JT, and Cooper.
