Robert M. Hansen, 77, of Walton passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton, NY.

Robert was born April 1, 1936 in Brooklyn the son of the late Martin B. and Eleanor M. (Worden) Hansen. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. On September 9, 1995 he married the former Jean Kunkel.

Robert was very proud to be a lifeguard at Jones beach in his younger years. He also worked for Dreamstreet Farms as a Satellite Manager. Then he worked as a Farmer on Dunk Hill, Walton, and Manager at the Blue Seal Feed Plant in Bainbridge. He also worked at Delaware Bulldozing in Bloomville. He was a member of the Walton United Presbyterian Church where he was in the Choir and a past Trustee, a leader for the Boy Scouts, and he was in the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, where he served as a secretary. He enjoyed sports, baseball, soccer, and the glee club. His family was very important to him. He enjoyed his garden and growing Dahlias and Hot Peppers.

Robert is survived by his loving family, his wife Jean, his children, Eric (Miriam) C. Hansen of Brisben; Duane M. Hansen of Arabia; Kurt R. (Ursula) Hansen of Van Alstyne, TX; Heidi G. Hansen of Oneonta; his grandchildren, Elanore of Owego; Karl of Walton; Kiefer and Kameron, Bendth, Raelena, his sister, Barbara (Stanley) Stevens of Hobart; the mother of his children, Janice R. Lloyd of Hamden, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Gregory L. Hansen, and his brother, Kenneth Hansen.

Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Walton United Presbyterian Church, 58 East Street, Walton from 1PM to 2PM where a memorial service will be held at 2PM with the Rev. Dr. Lisa Ruth Mays, officiating.
