Robert C. Matthews, 90 of Bainbridge NY passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at home, surrounded by family.

Robert was born on December 17, 1931 in Hempstead, NY the son of the late Charles Robert and Ruth (Smith) Matthews. On February 4, 1956 he married the former Virginia Koch.

Robert worked at BOCES as the head custodian in Trout Creek, NY for many years.

He was an artist who enjoyed doing portraits and Landscape paintings. Robert was an avid reader, enjoyed watching painting shows and old movies.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of over 66 years Virginia Matthews of Bainbridge, NY, daughter Marion (Dave) Kramer of Sidney NY, sons, Kyle (ReAnn)Matthews of Casper, WY, Kirk (Korinna) Matthews of Sidney NY, Brent Matthews of Bainbridge NY, Dean (Kathy) Matthews of Jefferson, NY, Troy (Toni) Matthews of Bainbridge, NY, Craig (Darcy) Matthews of Sidney, NY, grandchildren, Tina, Tommie, Dirk, Robin, Dwight, Chelsey, Devon, Kristy, Shelby, Shyann, Trinity, Connor, Troy, Tiffani, Joshua, Seth, Cameron, brothers, Ken and Gary Matthews, sisters Gail and Nancy, brother in law, Thomas (Hellen) Koch ,sisters in law, Georgia Bingman, and Patricia (Thomas) Wilson, several nieces, nephews several great grandkids, great great grandkids, and cousins.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home Walton NY.
