Obituary

Robert "Bob" Leon Moss of Walton passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2019. He was 92. He was born on November 19, 1926 in Delhi to the late William and Mary Moss.

Bob was educated in Sidney and graduated from Sidney High School in 1946. On September 21, 1947 he married Betty Valentine at the United Methodist Church in Walton.

He started working as a mechanic and bus driver for the Walton Central district before becoming the Director of Transportation for WCS from which he retired in 1985 after 35 years of service.

Upon retirement, he enjoyed life in Florida where he continued his passion for playing country music. He was known for his accolades as a horse shoe pitcher, bringing home many trophies. He loved sports, never missing his son's and grandchildren's games.

Bob is survived by four sons; Robert and wife Ranee of Laurens, Gerald of Binghamton, Timothy and Elaine of Otego and Thomas and wife Laura of Ganesvoort. Eleven grandchildren; Mike, Mary, Adam, Heidi, Justin, Owen, Stephen, Danny, C.J., Anna, Kira and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Betty in 2003, as well as brothers Edward and Charles and sister Eleanor.

The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St, Walton, NY. Memorial service will immediately follow with internment at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Ave, Walton, NY.

Memorial donations in Robert's memory may be made to Catskill Area Hospice, 297 River St. Service Road, Suite 1, Oneonta, NY 13820.
