Robert W. Oles, 85 formerly of Walton passed away Monday morning, August 2, 2004 at the Countryside Care Center Delhi, where he had been a resident since 2001.

Mr. Oles was born in Walton on December 8, 1918, the son of the late Frank and Gertrude Knight Oles. He was a graduate of Walton High School. He faithfully served his country in the Navy during WW-II. In 1939 he married the former Jeannette Telford. She died in 1990. .

He was last employed at S.J Bailey and Son, Walton, as an assembler.

He is survived by two sons: Richard R. and Beverly Oles of Norwich, and William F. and Doreen Oles of Walton; one sister: Vivian Ostrander of Delhi; one daughter-in-law, Diane Oles, Walton; 6 grandsons, Richard Jr, Christian, Todd, Tim, and Adam Oles, Sean Keifer; 3 Granddaughters, Christina Powers, Michele Beadle, and Tammy McCall; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, James Oles and a grandson, Shawn Oles, both in 2003, and 2 brothers, Harold, and John Oles.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday August 6, 2004 at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, with the Rev. Delbert Ripley officiating.

There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be made to either the Delaware County ARC, where he was a volunteer, or Walton EMS. Envelopes for memorial contributions are available at the funeral home.
