Obituary

Robert W. Robson Sr., 66, of Walton, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at his home following a courageous fight against cancer.

Mr. Robson was born in Delhi on October 27, 1941. He was the son of the late George and Jean (Worden) Robson.

Robert served in the United States Air Force and also the New York Army National Guard Reserve during the Vietnam War.

He had worked as a Supervisor of Operations for over 33 years at Amphenol in Sidney.

Mr. Robson was married to Margaret Kellogg on September 18, 1965 at St. John the Baptist Church, Walton.

Robert was a charter member of the Walton Fire Department Emergency Squad. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Sidney and his hunting camp, Camp 61, Bear Spring Mountain.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Robert had a passion for collecting arrowheads and he had a love for genealogy, researching both sides of his family tree. Bob also could be found on his lawn mower, if he ran out of lawn, he would mow the local roadsides. Bob's biggest love was for his family and friends, he was especially proud of his children.

Besides his wife, of 42 years, Margaret of Walton; he is survived by his children, Debbie Robson of Bainbridge and Robert Robson Jr. of Walton; two sisters, Laurie (Dick) Decker of Arizona and Tricia (Len) Cuccureddu of Connecticut; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tracy and Karen Kellogg, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins.

He was predeceased by his brother, William Robson.

Friends may call on Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 PM on Monday at Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 17-25 Benton Avenue, Walton with the Rev. Matthew Frisoni, celebrant. Rite of committal will follow at Walton Cemetery.
