Robert D. Wood, age 80, a lifelong resident of Walton died Saturday evening, July 10, 2010 at Countryside Care Center, Delhi following a long illness.

Mr. Wood was born January 4, 1930 in Walton, the son of the late Reeves E. and Wanda (Allen) Wood.

Robert graduated from Walton High School, class of 1948. He was a farmer all of his life, he and his brother, Louis, operated the family farm on Seely Wood Road. Rob was a member of the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his sisters, Mary Hinman of Windsor and Anna (Bill) Sulger of Walton; sister-in-law, Stacia Wood of Walton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert was predeceased by his brother, Louis S. Wood on May 10, 2010.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 10:00am until 12:00 noon at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. A graveside funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2:00pm at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Ave., Walton with the Rev. Dr. Lisa Ruth Mays, officiating.
