Roberta H. Kistner, 83, of Walton, formerly of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Thursday evening, February 11, 2010 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.

She was born February 2, 1927 on Oxbow Hollow in Walton, the daughter of Robert and Emma (Brown) Holley.

Mrs. Kistner attended Walton Schools and married Joseph A. Kistner on October 18, 1946 in Canajoharie.

She was a homemaker and made her children and grandchildren a priority. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was also an avid gardener and loved to raise both flowers and vegetables. Roberta loved all that nature had to offer, often bird watching and admiring the wildlife.

Besides her husband of 63 years, Joseph, she is survived by her six children, Holly (Richard) Malena of Clinton Corners, Roberta Kistner of Deerfield Beach, FL, Joseph (Susan) Kistner of Clinton Corners, James Kistner of Greenville, Julia (Daren) Pilch of Walton and Thomas (Loretta) Kistner of Windsor; seven grandchildren, Ann-Marie Caprioli, Amy Rochfort, James Malena, Stacey Pilch and Michael, Sara & Matthew Kistner; five great-grandchildren, Gianna Marie and Andrew James Caprioli, Steven Joseph Rochfort, Samuel Patrick Kistner and James Anthony Malena; brother, James (Margaret) Holley of Walton; and a sister, Hazel Gray of Canajoharie; and several nieces, nephews & cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Hilton Holley and wife Adelaide; a sister, Alice Sergio and husband Joseph; and a brother-in-law, Al Gray.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, with the Rev. Mark DelGiudice officiating. Friends are invited to call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
