Rodger D. Banks, 65 a lifelong resident of the Walton area, passed away Friday morning, May 8, 2009 in the Delaware Valley Hospital, after a long illness.

Rodger was born in Corbett, on November 28, 1943 the son of Clifford and Grace (Eck) Banks.

He was self employed as a Quarryman for many years, retiring due to health. He loved the life of a stone man and had many friends over the years that were a part of that life.

Rodger is survived by his mother, Grace Banks, Downsville; four daughters: Corenna Bivens of Roscoe, Chrisie Banks of Monticello, Mindy Banks of Walton, Emily (Ben) Vandermark, of Walton, three sons, Clifford Banks of East Branch, NY, John (Ashley) Banks of North Carolina, Brian (Kelly) Banks of New Berlin, sister, Nancy (Gordon) Tompkins of Hamden, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Clifford Banks in 1969, a grandson Owen Banks on December 21, 2008, and his long time companion, Celia Cook on April 30, 2009.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday morning May 12, 2009 from 10 to 11 AM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held at 11 AM with the Rev. Donald Crossman, officiating. Burial will follow in Paige Cemetery, Downsville.
