Rolla J. Allen, 82 of Walton, passed away Wednesday in Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, after a short illness.

Rolla was born in Walton, on April 14, 1925, the son of the late Floyd and Edna (Gray) Allen. On April 15, 1945 he married the former Florence Jump. She died in 1979.

Rolla was employed for many years at Breakstone's, Walton. Rolla was an animal lover who loved cats and took care of many strays.

Rolla is survived by two daughters: Linda (George) Tennant of Franklin, Deborah Allen of Walton, two sons, Michael Allen and Dan Allen, both of Walton, 1 grandson, Michael, 2 great grandchildren, one sister: Ella Shaul of Cooperstown, one brother, Floyd (Harriet) Allen of Dublin, Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, February 8, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM with Pastor Donald Crossman, officiating. Burial will be in Walton cemetery.
