Obituary

Ronald S. Favret, 95, of Walton passed away Friday afternoon, February 9, 2018 at home in Walton, surrounded by his family.

Ronald was born on May 16, 1922 in Cape Vincent, NY, the son of the late Stephen and Mary (Donahue) Favret. He married the former Madelyn Mc Manaman on August 30, 1944 at Brownville. She died on August 3, 1993. He was employed as a milk inspector, lastly for Allied Milk Co., Utica, NY. Ronald was a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus #0699, Watertown. He was also a former member of the 3 Mile Bay Fire Dept. While in Walton he managed the Walton Theatre for many years.

Ronald was a very active man, working til he was 80. He loved camping, fishing, meeting new people, riding his bike to the lighthouse and back and walking around town. His camping trips were in the North Country and Canada.

He is survived by one daughter: Mary Frances Rolfe, Walton; three sons, Stephen C and Janet Favret, Chaumont; Ronald P. Favret of Delhi, NY and Paul and Lisa Favret of Walton; grandchildren, Denise & Shawn, Stacey & Andy, Stephen & Erin, John, Mary, Tim, Brittney & Anthony, Ronald & Sondra, Haley, Ashley, Joelle, Ryan & Hannah, several great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Theresa, great-granddaughter, Mia and a brother, Lyle.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, February 13 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, February 16 at St. Vincent Of Paul Roman Catholic Church, Kanady Street (corner of Kanady & Lake Street), Cape Vincent, NY 13618, with the Rev. Pierre Aubin, officiating. Burial will be in Cape Vincent in the spring.

Memorial contributions in Ronald's memory may be made to Catskill Area Hospice, 297 River Street, Service Road, Oneonta, NY 13820.
