Obituary

Ronald L. Lacey, 59 of Cohoes, passed away Thursday evening, February 28, 2008 at the home of his son, Matt in Smyrna, Tennessee, after a short illness.

Ron was born in Walton on December 14, 1948 the son of Winfield and Leona (Young) Lacey. He was a graduate of Downsville Central School. He proudly served his country during Vietnam war in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He was employed as a mechanic at the Stratton Medical Center, Albany, where he had an exemplary work history with a special emphasis on welding. He always received the highest performance evaluations achievable and his work ethic will be sadly missed. Ron was a strong patriot who loved tinkering with his 1970 Chevy with 441,000 miles. Ron's two greatest joys in his life were his mother and his children.

Ron is survived by one daughter: Andrea Lacey of New York City, one son: Matt (Angela) Bartlett of Smyrna, his mother Leona Lacey, Walton, 2 grand children, Briana and Madison, 5 brothers, Scott (Lorraine) Lacey, Binghamton, Bill (Janet) Lacey, Silas Lacey, Terry Lacey, all of Walton, Jerry Lacey, Downsville, 4 sisters, Shirley (Gary) Chase, Walton; Patty Lacey, Sidney; Gloria Sherburne, Walton; Donna Ruff, Norwich; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Winfield, a brother, Thomas and a sister, Marion.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday evening, March 3, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 1 PM.
