Roy D. Burghart, 72, of Walton passed away on Tuesday May 9, 2017 in Knoxville, TN following a lengthy illness.

Roy was born on May 8, 1945 in Walton, the son of the late Robert and Christina (Budine) Burghart.

Roy was a lifetime farmer, with a love for nature; a longtime member of the Eastern Milk producers, and a Foreman at S. J. Bailey's in Walton for many years. He was a longtime member and past president of Club Royale Oasis and a member of the Bradenton FL. Moose Lodge and the Bradenton Horseshoe Club He enjoyed bowling, gardening, and playing in horseshoe leagues.

Roy is survived by his loving family, children, Kelley and Greg Graham of TN; Melissa and Frank Davis of TN; Kristie Andrews and Brandon King of VA; Summer Offnick and John Farewell of Walton; grandchildren, Owen, Eliana, Cody and wife Renee, Dillan, Dakota, Cheyenne, Adam, Shyla, Joseph, Benjamin, Wyatt, Jimmy, Garrett, Gage, Allison, and Jarrett, great grandchildren, Chloe, Mason, Kamden, Bently, and Bella Grace, brothers, Robert and Rita Burghart of Iowa; Raymond Burghart of Walton, sister, Janice and Richard Hoag of Wells Bridge, sister in law, Dorothy Burghart of Walton; special friend, Jennifer Gillie of FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandson, Christopher Andrews, and brother, William Burghart.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11 AM at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with the Rev. Bert More, officiating. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
