Ruby E. Gardner, 72, of Delancey, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009 at O'Connor Hospital of Delhi.

Ruby was born on October 21, 1937 in Andes, the daughter of the late Alvin and Dorothy (Misner) Elmore. She married Harry Gardner on June 24, 1954 at Hamden. He died on June 18, 1997.

Ruby loved sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ruby is survived by three daughters: Terry (Pat) Conklin of Delancey; Susan (Rick) Murphy, Walton; Nancy Gardner, Walton; six sons: Harry (Kathy) Gardner of Delancey; John (Martha) Gardner, Delancey; Ronald Gardner, Delancey; James (Laura) Gardner, Stamford; Reginald (Betti) Gardner, Delancey; Frederick Gardner, Delancey; two brothers: Wayne Elmore of Phoenix, AZ, James (Debbie) Elmore of Fargo, ND; 21 grandchildren, Bobbie, Ruby, Harry, Erick, Steven, Nicholas, Gerald, Richard, Nelson, Brian, Chrissy, Terry, Rebecca, John, James. Stephine, Rush, Alex, Nathan, Jessy Lynn and Jaimeson, Great-grandchildren, Ashley, Keith, Elaina, Dorthy, Raymon, Catherine, Amber, Diman, Morgan, Calla, Kendra, Taylor, Hailey, Deacon, Makayla, Johnny, Angelas and Lana, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her 2 beloved pets, Ruby and Bruce. She was predeceased by a brother Reginald Elmore and a sister Patty Elmore.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
