Rudolph F. Richter 87, formerly of Schenectady, passed away Friday evening at the home of his daughter Dawn Seneschal in Walton, after a short illness.
Mr. Richter was born on May 5, 1918 in Salem, NY, the son of the late Rudolph and Bertha Teal Richter. Mr. Richter married Virginia Wayman on June 4, 1945. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during WW-II. He was the recipient of the European-African-MiddleEastern Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and 4 overseas Service Bars. He was employed as a welder for the Trident Nuclear Submarine builders. He was a member of the Steamfitters & Pipefitters, Local # 105, Schenectady.
He is survived by his wife: Virginia Richter, Delhi; one daughter: Dawn Seneschal and her husband, William of Walton, one son: Julian Richter and his wife, Judith of Hillsboro, Oregon, 5 grandchildren, William Seneschal III; Stephan Richter, Gwendolyn Seneschal, Katie Richter, and Rebecca Richter; 3 great-grandchildren, Lana Seneschal, Ethan Kubis, and Keziah Richter, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Kort Richter, and a sister, Elsie Speck.
Full military honors will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery on September 21, 2005 at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Mark Del Giudice, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
