Russell D. McClenon, 56, of Walton passed away early Saturday morning, December 26, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family and close friends.

Russell was born on January 5, 1959 in Walton, the son of Richard and Ruth (Beers) McClenon Tennant. He married the former Diana Hatfield on June 19, 1993.

Russell was employed for many years at RFI for industry of Walton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and BBQ's with family and friends. He loved the outdoors and everything that went with it. He was a member of the NRA.

Russell is survived by his loving family, his wife, Diana, his mother, Ruth Tennant, Unadilla, mother in law, Joyce Wall, his children, Travis McClenon, Texas; Adam McClenon, Walton, Carol and Eric McClenon, Walton; brother, Randy McClenon, Oneonta; brothers and sisters in law, Fred and Pat hatfield and Tammy and Alex Santana; nieces and nephews and their children, Connie and Miguel Cardoza, Norwich; Robert and Teresa Bush, Edmeston; Michael and Brandon Cardoza and Ashley, Caleb and Bobby Bush; several cousins. Russell was predeceased by his father, Richard McClenon; stepfather, Basil Tennant; and father-in-law, John Wall.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 31 at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where a remembrance of Russell will take place. Anyone with a funny story or remembrance is encouraged to share. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
