Obituary

Ruth A. Bartlett, 71 of Walton, passed away suddenly Monday evening, February 7, 2005 in the Delaware Valley Hospital.

Ruth was born on November 2, 1933 in Kortright the daughter of the late Roland and Bessie Dietrich Bowker. She was a graduate of Walton High School. She was employed as a clerk at the former Mealus White Castle, Walton. As a young lady Ruth loved to play volleyball, soccer, and softball. She was also a supporter of Walton Pee Wee football acting as a coach for the Bears cheerleaders. On April 26, 1958 she married Irven G. Bartlett.

Ruth is survived by 3 daughters, Tammy Tompkins, and Colleen Bartlett, both of Walton, and RoxAnne Burrows, of Camden TN, 4 grandchildren, Tabitha, Jason, Trina, and Jarod; 6 great grandchildren, Jason, Dakota, Joshua, Dustin, Daniel, and Brianna; 2 sisters, Dorothy Barnhart, and Marian Hodge, both of Walton, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Irven on June 15, 1977 and her brother Carlton Bowker on January 15, 2005.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday evening, February 11, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St. Walton where services will be held Friday at 1:00 PM with Pastor Stephen Blews, officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
