It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth L. Couse, who left this world on August 20, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on August 6, 1931, to her parents Russell Baker and Florence Blything. Ruth was a beloved mother, friend, and neighbor, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met.

Ruth is survived by her children; Sally (Phillip) Yust of St. Joseph, MO and Daniel Mills of Sidney, NY., her sister Majorie Schaeffer of Binghamton, NY, and her granddaughters Adrienne (Christopher) Waner of Kansas City, MO, and Carrie Corder of St. Joseph, MO. Ruth is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

Together, they shared countless memories and a bond that embodied love and support. Ruth’s laughter and wisdom will be missed dearly, but it will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Florence Baker, her son Robert G. Mills, her brothers Robert Baker and David Baker, and her sisters Marie Rickard, and Dorothy Mealus.

The service for Ruth will take place on Tuesday August 25, 2026, at 11am with Rev. Daniel Runcorn officiating located at the Courtney Funeral Home.

The burial will take place on August 25, 2026, at the Walton Cemetery located at 55 Fancher Ave, Walton, NY 13856. We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Ruth's life and the love she brought into our lives.

Though we say goodbye to Ruth today, we know that her spirit will live on in our hearts. Let us remember her laughter, her kindness, and the many ways she made this world a better place.
