Ruth W. Ferraro, 71, of Downsville passed away on Wednesday night, July 12, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was born October 11,1951 in Bayreuth Germany the daughter of the late Geza Szirandi and Kunigunde Bayer. On February 21,1971 she married Angelo Ferraro in Queens, NY. He died on June 25, 2017.

Ruth worked as a Cleaner at the Downsville Post Office before fully retiring. She spent a lot of her time taking care of her late husband whom she loved dearly, making sure he lived a quality life. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino with Angelo, playing BINGO, watching and playing along with Jeopardy every night. Ruth would also read the news and give updates to everyone. Most of all she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother, she loved watching her granddaughter Gianna grow up, she was her heart. Family was everything to her. Ruth was a special person, one of a kind, fun loving soul whom had a presence to light up every room.

Ruth is survived by her loving family, children, Anthony (Catherine) Ferraro of CA, Daniel Ferraro of NJ, Jennifer (Alex) Pagan of Walton, grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ferraro, Gianna Pagan, Dakota Ferraro, brother, Christian Weber of PA; sisters, Christine Weber- Niedermeyer of PA; Ellen Szirandi -Schmalleger of FL, sister in laws, Antonietta Weber of PA, Josephine Realmuto of Downsville, brother in law, Sal Rubino of Washingtonville, and many nieces, and nephews, too many to name. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Angelo Ferraro, brothers, Herman and John Weber, sister, Angelika Szirandi-Varsik, and sister-in-law, Anna Rubino.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 11AM to 1PM at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where services will be held at 1PM with Fr. Edward J. Golding, celebrant. Burial will follow in Paige Cemetery, Route 30, Downsville.
