Ruth Lindsay Hempel, 82 of Fayetteville Pennsylvania, formerly of Walton went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 6, 2006 in the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, BelAir, Maryland.

Ruth was born in Walton on January 7, 1924 , the daughter of the late Sheldon and Alma Taylor Brink. She was a graduate of Walton Central School, and Syracuse University School of Nursing. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Walton.

She is survived by 3 sons, Robert Lindsay (Sharon) of Fallston, Maryland; Phil Lindsay (Judy); Mark Lindsay, both of Walton, 9 grandchildren, Heather, Stephen, Chad, Michael, Kami, Jimmy, Robert, Jason, and "JD"; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Hubert Brink (Doris) Alabama; Earl Brink (Sally), Colorado several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 husbands, Robert D. Lindsay, in 1987 and Rev. Edwin Hempel in 2001.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, September, 17, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church, 101 North St. Walton, with the Rev. Mark Del Giudice, officiating. Memorial contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are with Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
