Ruth J. Kelsey of Walton, NY passed away peacefully Monday July 8, 2013 at ElderWood Health Care Facility with her family by her side; following a period of decline.

Ruth was born on April 27, 1919 in Walton; the daughter of Percy and Annie (Wolf) Jackson.

Ruth was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Walton and a member of Dorcas Circle. Prior to retirement Ruth enjoyed working for her sister Margaret at The Family Shopping Center in Walton and with their sister Minnie. Ruth enjoyed helping customers from all over Delaware County.

Ruth most of all loved to spend time with her family. Ruth was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Trips to visit family across the country were enjoyed. Time spent in IN, MD, AZ, FL will be cherished memories for her family.

She is predeceased by her husband, Walter "Ike" Kelsey in 1990. Her mother and father, sister Minnie VanDemark and brothers Ambrose Jackson, Arthur Jackson and Percy Jackson.

Ruth will be greatly missed by her children Gail & Carl Wood of Bedford, IN; Jerry & Lori Kelsey of Tucson, AZ; Terri & Jim Mumme of Lockwood, NY. Six grandchildren: Karen (Ray) Giroux; Randy (Kay) Wood; Krissy Hawk; Lyndsey (Tyler Stangle) Mumme; Nicole Kelsey; Jarrett Kelsey; and eight great grandchildren: Nicholas, Danielle, Kelsey, Christopher, Jackson, Justice, Gauge, Jamie (Scott) and 3 great great grandchildren Jadah, Ethan, Jenah. Sisters: Margaret Baily, Catharine Ward; Brother William (Lina) Jackson. Sister-in-law Dorothy Kelsey. Many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at ElderWood, Waverly, NY for the care and support given to Ruth and her family during Ruth's illness.

Calling hours at The Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St, Walton, NY Thursday July 11th from 4 PM to 7 PM. Funeral will be at the United Presbyterian Church, Corner North and East Street, Walton, NY Friday July 12th at 11 AM. Committal Service immediately following at the Walton Cemetery.
