Obituary

Ryan K. Hodges, born in Walton—the place he would call home for the 47 years of his life, passed away unexpectedly this past Wednesday, October 25, 2006.

Ryan's biggest blessing occurred on October 14, 2000 when he wed the love of his life, Rae Ann Scully. She was his inspiration, his soul-mate, his life. Their blessings continued with the raising of his 4 children whom he adored.

Devoted husband, loving father, brother and friend, Ryan will be missed by those he left behind: His wife, Rae Ann (Scully) and their precious children—Ryan "Billy" Jr., Destinie, Abbie and Rae Ann, and a special foster child, Nicole Grant, . Also surviving are his mother and father-in-law Abbie and Patrick Scully of Walton as well as Rae's grandparent's Muriel and Ray Haywood of Connecticut and Ryan's grandmother, Waneta Gifford of Walton.

"Brother Billy" also leaves behind Donald McClenon of Sidney, Danny & Vinnie and David & Christina of Walton, as well as one sister, Penny and her husband Bobby Brown of Orange Park Florida. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his father, Paul and his mother Patricia Hodges.

Employed for many years by Scott Machine as Product Manager, he particularly enjoyed his daily lunches with co-worker and friend, John Price.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to an education fund set up for his children at Wilbur Bank of Walton.

A reception will be held at the Club Royale Oasis, 231 Delaware St. Walton, on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 3 PM, where family and friends are invited to join a celebration of Ryan's life.
