Shirley E. Dean 81 of Walton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, August 8, 2018.

She was born on November 27, 1936 at Rock Rift, NY, the daughter of Aaron and Bethel (Watson) Hafele. On March 26, 1954 she married William V. Dean, Sr. At the Methodist Church in Franklin, NY.

Shirley worked at the Countryside Care Center in Delhi for several years. She enjoyed taking care of the residents and they enjoyed her as well. She also received Employee of the Month.

She enjoyed playing BINGO, shopping every week and spending time with her family. She was a great cook and loved entertaining during the holidays.

Shirley is survived by her loving family, her children, William and Stacy Dean, Jr., Walton, Beverly and Richard Wright, Sr., Walton, Cindy and John Cobane, Sidney, James and Joanne Dean, Preston and Ronnie Dean, Delancey; grandchildren, Serena (Robert, Sr.), Richard,Jr. (Bobbi), Joshua, Brayden, Gabriella, Jeremy (Tracey), Tanya, John (Lisa), Adrianna (Francis), Brandi, Amber, Nicole (James, Sr.), Beth (Corey); great grandchildren, Paul Jr., Felisha, Robert Jr., Zaniel, Lahja, Katie, Logan, Hunter, Jarrett, Bryden, Jewel, Jade, Ian, Serenity, Lucian, Kaydence, Andrea, Tamra, Lauren, Kaleb, Joslynn, Jonas, Tiannah, Pyper, Treyten, Pazleigh, Brodie, Zayden, James Jr., Zoe, Everett; Sister Mary Douglas, KS, Sharon and James Kenyon, KY, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Shirley was Predeceased by her husband William, brother Warren Hafele, and two sisters Anna Bush, Helen Black, and a great grandson Gavin Wood.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 12 noon to 1 P.M. at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be at 1 P.M., with Pastor Robert Wilkie, officiating. Burial will be held privately in Walton Cemetery.
