Obituary

Stanley O. Kerschner, 84, of Walton, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City.

He was born January 17, 1926 in Low Hill, PA, the son of the late Oliver and Mamie (Snyder) Kerschner.

Mr. Kerschner served in the US Navy during World War II serving from 1943-1950 and re-enlisting in the US Marine Corps and serving from 1950 -1959 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He was a self-employed contractor, building houses in the Walton area, Stanley was also employed for several years with SJ Bailey & Co of Walton.

Stanley was a member of the Walton Veterans Club. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a wrestling fan.

On May 30, 1978 he married Beulah Schreier in Chambersburg, PA, she passed away on January 19, 2009.

He is survived by his children, Tina Kerschner of Walton and John R. Kerschner of Downsville; grandchildren, Tara and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jasmine; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.

Arrangments are under the direction of Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
