Stanley Shaffer, 94, passed away on August 7, 2026, at Chestnut Park Rehabilitation & Health Center, Oneonta, New York.

Stanley Shaffer was born on February 8, 1932, in Ackley, PA, to Ralph Shaffer and Mabel (Arnold) Shaffer.

Stanley retired from the Town of Colchester as a truck driver after many years of service.

Stanley was a loving man to family and friends, he and his wife fostered over 30 children. He enjoyed four wheeling, snowmobiling, and watching hummingbirds at his home. Stanley was apart of a large family of 12 siblings. Stanley also served in the Army during the Korean War.

Stanley is survived by Louise Shaffer - daughter, of Delhi, NY, Justin Shaffer – grandson, stepson Gerald (Diane) Mondore of Colorado. He is also survived by his brother Norman Shaffer of Harrisburg, PA, and three sisters; Carol, Beryl, and Nancy.

Stanley was preceded in death by Florence Shaffer - spouse, Ralph Shaffer - father, Mabel Shaffer – mother and son Shayne Shaffer, he was also predeceased by 6 sisters and 1 brother.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2026, 12pm-1-pm at Courtney Funeral Home 25 Townsend Street Walton, New York 13856. Service will start at 1pm with Rev. Christine Lindeberg officiating.

Burial will take place at Gregorytown Cemetery near Junction of Fuller Hill Road and Back River Road in the Town of Colchester, New York.
