Stephen D. Batchelor passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2014, following a short illness. He was predeceased by his wife Miriam of 52 years and his son, Stephen. He is survived by his children Elizabeth Batchelor of Gloversville, NY, Linda Batchelor of Florence, MA, Peggy Perkins of Sebastian, FL and David Batchelor of Crystal Lake, IL, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was educated at Exeter and Harvard but often said he learned the most from his service in the Army during WWII. He went to Florida with the space program in 1950 and stayed after being a founding member of two engineering companies. He was an avid sailor, a dedicated Hospice volunteer, and active in the local Episcopal church leadership and choir. Donations in his honor may be made to the Gloversville Public Library, 58 E.
