Stephen A. Elderkin, 65, of Walton passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Delhi Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Delhi, NY following a long illness.

Stephen was born on September 17, 1957 in Sidney, the son of Herbert and Patricia (Barnhardt) Elderkin. He graduated from Walton Central School, class of 1976.

Stephen was an Electrical Technician for the Workshop in Binghamton, NY. He was an avid reader, he loved history books and science fiction. Family was the most important thing, especially the time he spent with his niece and nephew.

Stephen is survived by his loving family, his father, Herbert Elderkin of Walton, sister, Kathleen (Chris) Neice of Walton, niece, Sally Niece Pritchard of Walton, nephew great-nephew Christopher and great-niece Evelynn Pritchard of Walton. He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Elderkin, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and his good friend, Everett Burrows.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 1 PM at Ouleout Cemetery in Franklin with Pastor Larry Light, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
