It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven J. Babcock, who left this world on February 24, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on April 20, 1958, in Spring Valley, NY, Steve grew up with a love for the great outdoors that would shape his passions throughout his life.

A devoted truck driver for the New York State Department of Transportation, Steve was known for his hard work and dedication. But beyond his job, he was a man who cherished the simple joys of life. He had a special fondness for bald eagles, often aspiring to catch a glimpse of these majestic birds in their natural habitat. Steve also loved hunting and fishing, finding solace and happiness in the thrill of the hunt and the tranquility of the water.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Starrene Babcock, who was not just his partner but his greatest friend. He is also survived by Sister's Barb Costello & Sue Babcock, also his brother Daniel Babcock.

Calling hours for Steve will held be Wednesday March 4, 2026, from 4pm-9pm located at the Courtney Funeral Home 25 Townsend St. Walton NY, 13856.  The service will be held privately. Burial will take place at a later date at Paige Cemetery in Downsville, NY.
