IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sue Ellen
Mcclenon
June 9, 1954 – February 17, 2024
Sue Ellen McClenon,69, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away on February 17 2024 at A.O.Fox Hospital, Oneonta after a long stretch of chronic ill health.
Sue was born June 9th,1954 in Walton. She was the oldest of 5 children born to Millard D. Jr & Joan A. McClenon. She graduated from Walton O'Neil Jr/Sr High School in 1972.
Sue worked many years at the Country Store, Red Lion, & Blue Goose stores in Walton but spent the most years working at the Carousel of the ARC of Delaware County. Her love of children & sense of fun made her time there very rewarding & she is fondly remembered by many of the kids & coworkers she spent time with at Carousel. Sue loved to dance & had an instantly recognizable laugh. There were many times the whole family in the McClenon house on Mead Street would have laughing fits just from hearing Sue start her raspy chuckle. She also loved to crochet & was handy with crafting.
Sue was predeceased by her father Millard D. McClenon,Jr & Mother Joan A. McClenon.
She is survived by her sister Gerri L. McClenon. Brothers Herschel R. & William T. McClenon all of Walton, & John R. (Melissa) McClenon of San Antonio, TX
As well as nephews Micheal J. McClenon(Errica Cucciarre), of Telford,PA, Aaron J. McClenon(Jessika) & Ryan M.McClenon both of San Antonio,TX. Niece Sara L. (David) Rodriguez of San Antonio,TX & Great Niece Ellie Gwen McClenon of San Antonio,TX.
The family would like to thank longtime friend Sharon Budine for all her help as well as Amanda Johnston of Chestnut Park Nursing Center in Oneonta for all she did for Sue.
It's a small consolation for the family that her suffering is over, we know Sue is now at peace. We will miss her immeasurably.
Graveside service is set for Friday May 17th, 1 pm at Walton Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton New York. Expressions of sympathy may be made online by visiting www.courtneyfh.com.
