Susan Kay Benedict, beloved wife, sister, aunt and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on November 4, 1944, in Walton, to her parents Glenn Benedict and Charlotte Forester. Sue was a longtime resident of our community and lived in California for 13 years returning to Walton in 1977. Sue was also a proud graduate of Walton Central School, Class of 1962.

For 21 wonderful years, she was the devoted wife of Ron Oles. Their partnership was one marked by love, laughter, and shared adventures. Sue's passion for life was evident in all she did. She found immense joy in hiking and walking, exploring nature all over the country, and spending cherished moments with the dogs of her family, whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her love for the outdoors, Sue attended Central City Business Institute (CCBI) and enjoyed her time working for Smith-Corona where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. Sue was a office manager for Dr. Korwan and Dr. Bonsi's offices. Sue's gentle spirit and compassionate heart made a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Sue is survived by her beloved husband, Ron Oles of  Walton, her sister Sandra Benedict of Walton, her brother Scott Benedict of Unadilla, and her 4 nieces; Rebecca, Jessica, Amber, and Kali.

Sue is preceded in death by  her parents Glenn and Charlotte Benedict, her brothers; Roger Benedict (2009) and Lynn Benedict (1996), and her cousin David Bullis (2020.)

Graveside will be held on Wednesday August 27, 2025 at 1pm at the Walton Cemetery with Pastor Christine Lindeburg officiating.
