Ted M. Goldsmith, 67, Walton resident of 37 years formerly of White Sulphur Springs passed away unexpectedly Monday morning January 10, 2011 at O'Connor Hospital in Delhi.

Ted was born May 28, 1943 in Middletown, NY. He is the son of the late Richard and Beatrice (Martin) Goldsmith. He married Virginia Amore on June 6, 1964 at Ellenville, New York.

He proudly served his country from 1960-1963 in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion in Delhi, New York.

Ted was employed by NYSEG of Walton as a Chief Line Mechanic for 36 years.

He enjoyed working in his shop doing blacksmithing and in his cellar doing wood working.

Ted is survived by his wife, Virginia (Amore) Goldsmith, his children, Robert Goldsmith of Houston, TX; William (Susan) Goldsmith of SC; Deborah Smith, of Walton, Kathy (David) VanBuren of VA, his brothers, Douglas (Eleanor) Goldsmith of White Sulphur Springs, Albert (Judy) Goldsmith of SC; his grandchildren, Myles, Meaghan, Racheal, Kristen, Nicholas, Patrick, Ashley, Alexandra, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents Ted was predeceased by a brother, Clifford Goldsmith.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 6PM at the New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton, New York.
