Terry L. Glance, 73, of Davenport Center, NY passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family, August 27, 2025.
Terry was born on April 19, 1952, to Ruth and Peter Glance in Mio, Michigan. Upon graduating from high school and Michigan State University, Terry relocated to Manhattan in NYC. From there he lived in Walton, and the Oneonta areas making Davenport Center his final home. Terry was also an adjunct professor of Human Ecology at SUNY Oneonta in the early 2000s.
Terry owned and operated a college girls clothing store "American Sports Works" on main street in Oneonta for many years. He was a licensed real estate associate for Era Cavanagh-Wright Real Estate. He and his beloved wife owned and operated TK's Diner in Davenport Center.
Terry's proud accomplishment was redoing a Victorian home in Oneonta, receiving an architectural preservation award for its beautiful restoration. One minute after midnight on January 1, 2000, Terry married the former Karen Green of Walton.
Terry is survived by one brother Peter Glance of Bangkok Thailand, one sister Susan (Dick) Hammill of Atlanta, GA., sister in-laws Debbie Sherwood, Terri Green, and Ellie Truman all of Walton. A brother in-law Royce Green of Davenport Center, his friend Gary Sherwood of Oneonta, NY special niece and caregiver Trista Sherwood of Laurens, Niece Sachi West of Milford, a nephew Keegan Sherwood of Oneonta as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and valued customers from TK's Diner, and his two fur babies; Cleo and Bigsley.
Terry was predeceased by his wife Karen Glance, his parents Ruth and Peter Glance, mother in-law Elinor Northrup and brother in-law James Truman.
As per Terry's request there will be no funeral or calling hours. A graveside service will take place at the convince of the family. Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery.
