Obituary

Thelma L. Welch, 77 of Walton passed away Monday October 9, 2006 following a long battle with emphysema.

Thelma was born in East Meredith NY, the daughter of the late Harry and Mae Casterlin Lewis on April 21, 1929. She married Bert A. Welch on July 5, 1950, in Walton, where they remained throughout their married life.

She enjoyed playing pinocle with friends and relatives, gardening, Crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and rides in the country.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Bert; her sons, Rodney of Madison, Wisconsin, and Duane of Walton. She is survived by 4 grand children, Zoe of Williamsburg, Virginia, Andrew of Pulaski, New York, and Amanda and Staci of Unadilla, New York, her sister Barbara of Bradonton, Florida, and a sister in law, Frances Rice of Walton, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Herbert Lewis, and a sister Jean Wheat.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton from 6 to 8 PM, where services will be held on Saturday morning at 11 AM with the Rev. William S. Robertson, officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association of Northeastern NY, 5096 Commercial Drive, Yorkville, NY13495 , or the Walton Emergency Squad, 61 West St., Walton, NY 13856.
