Thomas Michael Mills Sr., 60, loving son, brother, father and friend passed away Monday, November 16, 2009 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, following a short illness.

Tom was born on November 6, 1949 in Downsville, the son of the late Reginald and Isabelle (Knapp) Mills Sr. He proudly served his country during the the Vietnam war, in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was employed by Breakstone's, Walton for 37 years.

Tom is survived by his loving family, his companion , Margaret Terry, and her daughter Ashly; 2 daughters, Jackie (Doug) Van Loan, Riceville, Tennessee; Angela (George) Jones, Kyle, Texas; a son, Thomas (Kathy) Mills Jr, Christiana, TN; grandchildren, Julia, Chelsea, Isabella, Thomas III, Shawn, Erik, Brittany, great-grandchildren, Logan and Kylie, brothers, Don Mills, Gene (Judy) Mills, Jim (Goldie) Mills, Clark "Cork" (Carol) Mills, Bill Mills, sisters, Sandy Elmore, Mickey (Pat) McClenon, Roxanne (Mike) Bartolillo, Terry Allen, Tracey Wilson, all of Downsville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Reginald in 1997 and his sister, Bridget in 2007.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday evening, from 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 1 PM, with Father Donahue, officiating.

Memorial contributions in Tom's memory may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Main St., Downsville.
