Thor J. Mattson, also known as TJ or Tut Mattson, passed away on July 29, 2007, at his home in Walton, NY. He had moved to Walton in 2004.

Thor was born in 1936 at Pougkeepsie, NY. He was raised in Hyde Park and attended local schools. Thor graduated from F. D. Roosevelt High School in 1954. He served three years in the U. S. Army.

Thor was retired and had been self employed.

Thor survivors include his Brother John E. Mattson, of Roseville, CA; his Sister Karin M. Birdsall, of Irvine, CA; two nieces, a nephew and several grand nieces and nephews.

Services are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the National Arthritis Foundation.
