Gerald W. "Thumper" Youmans, Jr., 56 a life long resident of Walton passed away Tuesday morning, May 16, 2006 in Delaware Valley Hospital, after a long illness.

Thumper was born in Walton on March 6, 1950, the son of Gerald W. and Myra Austin Youmans Sr. He was a high school graduate, class of 1968, where he was a standout on the football, baseball, and basketball teams. On June 14, 1969 he married the former Kathryn Hulse in Walton. He was an employee of S.J. Bailey & Sons for many years, retiring due to illness.

Thumper was a member of the Club Royale Oasis, Walton Vets Club, and the Apex Sportsman Club. He enjoyed sports in his younger years, hunting, bowling, golfing, and playing baseball. Years later he enjoyed watching all types of sports.

He is survived by is his wife, Kathie, his mother Myra, his daughter Jodie and her husband, David all of Walton, his son Chad of Charleston, SC, his grandson Garrett, his sister, Deborah Boynton of Bakersfield, California, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Gerald, in 1983 and his brother, Erich in 1992.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2006, at 11;00 AM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home Walton, with the Rev. Jennifer Matison Juliano, officiating. A graveside service will be held at Walton Cemetery at 12:00 Noon with Elder William Husch, officiating.
