Tiffany's story

Friends and family will be gathering to say good bye to our dear Tiffany on July 31, 2016 at 1PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton with Rev. Bert More, officiating.

Tiffany was only 47 years old, full of life and a friend to everyone. She was known for her caring heart, positive attitude and willingness to help young or old who were in need. She was a person others felt safe confiding in and played counselor, advice giver, and creative solution finder most of her life. Her journey began on February 15, 1969 in Holly Hill, Florida. She was the daughter of Donald W. and Linda L. (Henry) Mousseau. Tiffany moved to New York when she was 3 and was raised in New York in a blended family by her mother and step father, Gilbert Mills. She was a member of the Class of 1987 at Downsville Central School. On December 7, 1991 she married the love of her life, William DeBrock and became a second mom to Bill's sons Branden and Christopher. She and Bill went on to have 2 more sons, Dylan Ross in 1992 and Preston William in 1998. She often said that although she lived with 5 roosters, she ruled the roost. Unfortunately, Tiffany's life was one of pain and physical suffering. She was born with a kidney defect that led to frequent infections and several episodes of kidney failure. As a teen she shattered her right ankle, which despite several surgeries, never properly healed. She also had multiple hospitalizations for pneumonia which ultimately led to her demise. During the time she was able to work, she was the Head Waitress at Danny's Restaurant. She loved her job and made many lasting friendships with her customers.

Tiffany's first love was her family and she hosted memorable holiday dinners and birthday parties. The group of boys who attended Preston's weekend long Army Rangers party still talk about the treasure hunt, camping, and awesome take home goodie bags. Tiffany was an excellent cook and was known for her 20 plus pound Lasagna and made from scratch Cheesecake. No one ever left her home hungry.

Tiffany's second love was of antique china and glassware. She began buying, selling and collecting years ago and was very knowledgeable on many different types of glass and china. Her home is filled with many beautiful and unique pieces.

However, in May, Tiffany again got Pneumonia. During the course of treatment she also contracted MRSA. In early July, she and Bill journeyed to Holly Hill so she could visit her father. She suffered a relapse and died at Ormond Beach Hospital on July 11. Besides her parents, husband, and sons, she leaves her brothers, Ross Mousseau, Richard Mills and Walter Mills. Her in laws, Peter and Genevive DeBrock, sister in law, Jan and nephews, Jeremy and Alex Mousseau, and P J DeBrock.

The family requests that if possible people coming to Tiffany's service wear something purple in her memory. There will be a luncheon afterwards at Danny's Restaurant, courtesy of the Hannan family. Donations may be made to the family at 1300 Oxbow Hollow Road, Walton, New York 13856, at a gofundme account in her name or various locations of area businesses.
