Timothy C. Cunningham, 65, of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 12, 2018 at home.
Timothy was born on June 2, 1952 in Livingston, NJ the son of the late Timothy M. and Betty (Greene) Cunningham. He was a graduate of Purdue University. He was a book and screen play writer, he wrote the movie, "Before Night Falls," a critically acclaimed movie, starring, Javier Bardem, Johnny Depp and Sean Penn. The movie went on to critical acclaim and winning Venice International Film Festival's Silver Lion-Juries Special Award and best movie of the year. He was in charge of enlarging department of Seward Johnson Sculpting Studio. For the last 10 years, he worked at MOMA PS1 where he is greatly missed by his colleagues and friends. He was a member of the Writers Guild. He enjoyed playing guitar, sculpting, and painting.
Timothy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Milena, sisters and brother in law, Maggi and Sol Sassoon of NJ; Elizabeth Cunningham, of FL; Brenda Spork of IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be privately and at the convenience of the family.
