Timothy P. Mathews, 36 of Walton, passed away suddenly Tuesday evening August 24, 2004 in the Delaware Valley Hospital Walton, after being stricken.

Tim was born in Portsmouth, VA,on May 7, 1968, the son of Robert and Karen Brown Mathews Sr. He was a graduate of Hudson, NY schools and Dehi Tech. He proudly served his country in the Persian Gulf War with the United States Marine Corps, as a crewman aboard an amphibian assault vehicle. He married the former Ruth A. Buchanan on March 2, 1996 at Walton. He was a veterinary Technician last employed by the Peace Plantation, Walton. Tim was first and foremost a devoted family man who loved to play with his children, go fishing, watch movies, and build model rockets.

He is survived by his wife: Ruth A. Mathews; 2 children, Brittny Peck, and Nicholas Mathews both at home; his mother Karen McHenry, of North Carolina; one sister: Amy Lusher of Pawling, NY, six brothers: Chris Mathews of Hudson, NY, Scott Mathews of Connecticut;, Robert Mathews Jr. Robert Pough,and Todd Pough, all of Hudson, NY, Brian Pough of Pennsylvania; his mother and father-in-law, Richard and Sheila Buchanan, Walton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and relatives may call Friday August 27, 2004 from 7 - 9 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St, Walton, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday.Memorial contributions in Tim's memory may be made to a trust fund for Brittny and Nicholas to the Delaware National Bank of Delhi, 124 Main St., Delhi.
