Trevor D. Tomao, 28, formally of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Virginia Beach, VA.

Trevor was born on September 22, 1987 in Walton, the son of James D. and Darlene (Cetta) Tomao. He was a graduate of Walton Central School, the class of 2005. Trevor then attended Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass., where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a minor in Sports Management. Trevor was employed as a Counselor for the Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center in Portsmouth, Va. He had a love of all sports but had a special love for baseball. He played baseball for the Walton Little League, American Legion teams, Walton Central and the Anna Maria College Baseball team. In youth, he served his church, St John's Catholic Church Walton, as an Altar Boy.

Trevor will be remembered as a generous and outgoing young man who gave freely to those less fortunate than him. He was known to buy special treats and clothing for the kids he counseled. His generosity showed as he had just purchased many pairs of sneakers for the kids in his program who affectionately called him Mr. Trevor. He would spend many overtime hours working as these children became a very important part of his life. Whatever he had to give, he gave freely and without reservation.

Trevor is survived by his loving family, his parents, James and Darlene (Cetta) Tomao of Walton, sister, Adrienne Tomao of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Dominic Tomao of Walton; grandmother, Mary Lou (Olin)McDonald of Westerly, NY; grandfather Mauro Cetta Sr. (Ruth) of Florida; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that he met and loved on his earthly journey. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Albert Tomao, and grandmother, Catherine Cetta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Walton, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
