Valerie J. Stewart, 42 of Bovina Center, passed away Tuesday morning, June 26, 2007 in Albany Medical Center, Albany, after a short illness.
Val was a life long resident of Delaware County, born in Delhi on April 14, 1965 the daughter of Ernest and Clarice (Nichols) Valentine. She was a graduate of Delaware Academy and the New York State University at Delhi, where she obtained associates degrees in animal husbandry and secretarial sciences. She married Wayne Stewart on October 25, 2003 at the Bovina Center Presbyterian Church. Val was employed by the US Postal Service in Delhi.
Val had a very active life taking care of all the things she loved. First was her family, next the farm and all of the animals on it. Val was a very special person who had the biggest heart and loved making other people happy. If someone was sad she would give them flowers from her garden, a cookie from her oven, and an encouraging word from her heart. She enjoyed baking and taking pictures and would often deliver cookies and pictures to her family and friends. Val also enjoyed bowling and marathon shopping at Wal-Mart.
Valerie is survived by her loving husband, Wayne, two daughters: Danielle C. Stewart and fiancee', Darryll Easton of Canajoharie, Leanne (Jason) Ward of Montana; and two sons: Casey Christopher Stewart, at home, and Gregory Stewart of Oneonta, NY; her parents Ernest and Clarice (Nichols) Valentine of Delhi, two sisters: Deborah (David) Bolles, Phyllis (Jim) Rash one brother: Ernest W. (Debra) Valentine Jr.; grandchildren, Logan And Abigail Ward; nephews, Kyle Valentine, Matthew Valentine, Brent Nichols; Elijah Wright, Heith Armstrong, nieces, Rachel Valentine, Kayla Brunner, Katherine Barnhart, Grand Nephew, Daxtin Nichols; great neice, Natalie Brunner, and several cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday evening, June 29, 2007 from 6 to 8 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 4:00 pm at the Bovina Center Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Scott Conrad and Rev. Bert More, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to Memorial Fund for the Casey C. Stewart college fund at Delaware National Bank of Delhi.
