Obituary

Vernon S. "Tony" Taylor, Jr., 70 of Walton NY, passed away Monday November 14, 2005 at the home of his son Kevin in Denville, NJ, after a long illness.

Tony was born October 24, 1935 in Manhattan, NY, the son of the late Vernon S. and Margaret L. Johnson Taylor. He attended schools in Walton, New York City, Tucson, AZ., Long Beach, California, Albuquerque, NM, Fairleigh Dickinson, Rutgers and NY Universities for undergrad and graduate studies. He served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War.

He was an engineer, and recruitment specialist, employed by Bell Telephone Laboratories and AT&T Corp. headquarters and later was the principal of Taylor Associates. He was also active in many charitable actives.

Tony was a member of the Truman C. Toby American Legion Post # 32, Walton, Walton Fire Dept., Founder of The Walton Citizens Task Force, F.B. Jewett Chapter of Bell Laboratories/AT&T Telephone Pioneers of America, Vice-Chairman of Morris Center YMCA, Cedar Knolls, NJ, Vice-President Emeritus, Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association, founding member of The Cousteau Society,and a member of the NRA, and the AARP. Mr. Taylor was also a member of the US Senatorial Club; Republican National and Congressional Committees; Charter Member of the Citizens Against Govt. Waste, American Management Assoc.; Second Amendment Foundation; Citizens for Legal Reform; and a North American Hunting Club Evaluator.

He is survived by his three sons Craig, Kevin and Timothy Taylor, and one grandson, Justin Paul Taylor.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, November 17, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St. Walton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 18, 2005 at St. John the Baptist Church, Walton at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Michael Flannery, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in French Woods Cemetery, Hancock.

Memorial contributions in Tony's memory may be made to St. Labre Indian School, Ashland MT., 59004-1001.
