Veronica (Vonnie) Anne Wayman-Fishelson passed away on June 29th, 2026, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. After weeks of being surrounded by her family in the comfort of her own home, feeling all the love everyone had for her, she peacefully passed holding the hand of her husband, Lewis. Veronica was born in Walton, NY on February 12th, 1979, to the late George (Don) and Joanne (McCall) Wayman.

She attended Walton Central School and later went on to study Holistic Nutrition at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and became a Holistic Nutrition Practitioner. This was her passion and she was very proud of the work she did helping people on their journey to a healthier holistic life. She was in the process of opening her own business in Oneonta, NY, Your Time To Shine Wellness Boutique, when the diagnosis came in so that was put on hold. Her latest work was as a house manager for ARC of Delaware County where she met many new friends and colleagues. She was a member of Trout Creek Community Church and devoted to her faith in God. She loved to read everything, from the Bible to her favorite author, or an old cookbook. She loved music, movies, and being outside and active. She had a passion for baking, especially for family on the holidays. She met some best friends along the way who held a special place in her heart. Jamie Milam Johnson, Melissa Thornton, Michele Noe Prevette, and Janet Kallsen in North Carolina and Jerrie Schultz here in NY.

Veronica will be remembered for her ability to love everyone, her positivity and her faith in God. She did not only fight this disease for 7 years, but she bravely shared her journey so that others in similar situations will find the tough road ahead of them a little easier to navigate. That is who she was.

Veronica is survived by that which she loved most in life, her family. Her husband Lewis Fishelson. Her sons Christopher Stevens, Brandon Lane, Alexzander Lane and Andrew Wright. Her sister, brothers and in-laws Connie & Mike, Ron, Don, John & Sophia, Robbie, Donnie Ray and Deniece. So many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins that she absolutely loved with all her heart.

She was predeceased by her parents George and Joanne, brother Lonnie, sister Rose, Aunt Sandi and uncle Butch.

A Celebration of Life for Veronica will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Trout Creek Community Church, 8558 County Hwy. 27, Trout Creek, NY 13847 with Pastor Donnie Crossman.

The private burial will be held at Walton Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
