Vivian S. Hitt Miller, 78, of Walton passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 surrounded by her family at home.

Vivian was born in Walton on December 13, 1935 the daughter of the late Frederick C. and Dorothy A. Cutting Storrer. She married Meltheor J. Hitt on April 10, 1954 he predeceased her on May 12, 1990, then she married Frederick Gordon Miller, Jr. on June 17, 1993 he predeceased her on October 9, 2004.

Vivian was employed by the Walton Central School as a Cafeteria Aide. She enjoyed raising her children, reading, baking, gardening, sitting on her front porch watching and feeding the birds, and loved attending her grandchildren's school events.

Vivian is survived by her loving family, her 15 children who she considered her greatest legacy, Fred (Deb) Hitt of Walton, NY; Tim (Lorraine) Hitt of Walton, NY; Terry (Shawn) Hitt of Boonville, NY; Rob (Sandy) Hitt of Boonville, NY; Melanie Davis of Walton, NY; Steve (Kelly) Hitt of North Brookfield, MA; Lisa Pierce of Walton, NY; Kitty (Jim) Smith of Norfolk, NY; Julie (Steve) Condon of Walton, NY; Tricia (SJ) Jackson of Anderson, SC; Betsy (Arnie) Drumm of Sidney Center, NY; Kristy (Davey) Kotorman of Clayton, NC; Wendy (Mike ) Layton of Sidney Center, NY; Lacey (Cecil) Davis of Delhi, NY; 38 grandchildren, Kevin, Tamie, Michelle, Jackie, Diesel, Shasta, Jody, Jerrod, Cody, Rachel, Jesse, Josh, Jaycie, Derek, Jeanne, Tyler, Lyndsay, Kate, Shane, Dusty, Casey, Emilee, Owen, Breyenne, Ian, Jay, Aislynn, Kailynn, Quinn, Carter, Imre, Sarah, Sammi, Cecil, Lauren, Samuel, Lexi, Levi, her sisters, Arletta (Larry) Armstrong of Raleigh, NC; Betty (Jack) Constable of Walton, NY; Karen (Tracey) Kellogg of Walton, NY; Bernyce Storrer of Texas; her 27 great grandchildren, her sister in laws, MaryLou, Stacia, Delphine, Doris her special friends, Gretchen, Maxine, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Ed Hitt in 2004, her son in law, Dave Watson in 1997, and her great grandchild, Nazir in 2012.

Friends and family are invited to call on May 18, 2014 from 5PM to 7PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 2PM at the Walton Cemetery.
